HCB Construction was formed after we built our own custom home. We were excited about the process, and we were very hands-on, learning the details of every step of the building process.
We also learned what homeowners need to know from their builders. So we instinctively put ourselves in your shoes—we know the construction process can be confusing and sometimes frustrating. Here’s how we work with you:
HCB starts by listening to your ideas and our team works closely with you to understand the vision you have for your home. We also take time to review and discuss plan and property options and discuss general pricing guidelines and possible ideas.
Most clients have spent a great deal of time researching home ideas, and we strongly encourage that. Bring your Pinterest/Houzz scrapbook. These are very useful online tools to gather a scrapbook of styles, vendors and materials that you like.
We’ll put your ideas on the table and we’ll help guide you on choosing the style of home that fits your aesthetic and vision. Once this has been established we’ll help you find the right houseplan, or wait and let you bring your plan to us.
Once a plan is chosen, HCB will provide an estimate based on your budget, desires and needs. Together we complete a detailed specification questionnaire. We utilize this information and all documents provided to establish an accurate cost basis for all aspects of construction: from initial plan cost through delivery of your new home.
We will then present a thorough bid and construction timeline. We include everything up front in the bid including specifications and budgets.
We also advise you of any other considerations up front—permitting, inspections, or other details that some contractors may leave up to you. We make sure you know every step and issue.
Every cent spent on your house will be accounted for, including overhead and profit. There will be no hidden fees, no kickbacks, no substitution of inferior materials, no shoddy workmanship, and no shortcuts.
It’s the way we’d expect a contractor to work if we were building for ourselves.
When construction gets started, HCB provides a Professional Designer to help you begin selecting your materials. This process is seamless and organized.
Throughout the construction of your home you will receive consistent updates on the progress and onsite meetings to review and approve milestones in the process until 100% completion of the punch list and delivery of the keys to your new home.
